The young and talented Framing Hanley band loves not just the music but every form of art. And they especially express that through their tattoos. The band is made up of five people: Nixon is the lead singer, Ryan and Brandon play the guitar, Luke does the bass and does the backing vocals and Chris is at the drums.

The band got its name of Chris’s fiancée, Ashley, who sadly passed away in a car accident. They changed the name of the band to honor her.

They have had tremendous success with their first album which was released back in 2007 and they have been touring since its release date. Lady Gaga tattoos pictures have long been seen on the internet for quite some while but what do they really symbolize?

She proudly wears her tattoos on her wrist, her shoulder, inner arm and on her back, where she has a simply amazing tattoo that can be seen in one of her later videos. When Lady Gaga was asked how many tattoos she has, she had trouble remembering the exact number, maybe because not all of them are for everyone to see.

Her latest tattoo from her upper left arm pays tribute to all of her fans which she refers to as “little monsters”. The tattoo is situated next to an existing one which is a quote from the German poet and philosopher Rainer Maria Rilke. The quote translates like this: “Confess to yourself in the deepest hour of the night whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. Dig deep into your heart, where the answer spreads its roots in your being, and ask yourself solemnly, Must I write?” Read the rest of this entry »

I don’t know what surprised me more: that I even noticed the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine or that I immensely enjoyed what I saw, which was a short-haired, tatted-up visual of Pink.

Normally, I make a concerted effort to avoid looking at the dozens of magazines, mainly women’s interest, fitness, and tabloids, that litter the check-stand aisles. But the June 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan, perhaps the most hated lady mag of all, caught my eye at the neighborhood Shopper’s. And I couldn’t look away.

There was Pink, a bad-assed, foul-mouthed, tattooed singer after my own heart, covering a publication most known for their bizarre sex tips. She looked completely different from their average cover girl who is almost always sporting a bright, solid dress, long flowing hair and a perky smile. (They even made Lady Gaga a version of this.) That average cover girl, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lauren Conrad, or Jessica Simpson, is who women “should” want to be: Smart but not too geeky, sexy but not slutty, professionally successful but not threatening. And if one of them should become too much of a good thing, she should be apologetic about it. Or, as Beyonce has done, create an altar ego whom may bear the brunt of her smarts, independence, and sex appeal. Read the rest of this entry »

It is not really surprising to learn that many celebrities love tattoos, nor is it surprising that those who are in the public eye and in the media have quite a significant influence on the American population’s fascination with tattoos.  The stars have tattoos, so all of their fans want tattoos also.  For celebrities, age is not a factor;  older stars as well as the younger ones have them.  We know all of these people–  but how much do we know about what unique styles of artwork they have?
